It seems like no matter what I do, I cannot unlock outfits, additional fatalities, etc. I’ve beat Kronika on all the towers on medium and am working my way through story.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it wouldn't be unprecedented for the leakers to have no knowledge of the final character (assuming there is one). IIRC, they didn't know about Rain. In MK11, they didn't know about Frost, and if memory serves me correctly, that was also the case for an MKX character.
