Rio de Janeiro, like any major city, has its share of crime, and it's important for travelers to be aware of potential risks. You can’t simply expect to have the same level of safety in Rio de Janeiro that you have in your home country — if you do have, that is.
The only people I have seen disagree are either in the south or in Brasilia and in both cases are middle class. Sao Paulo, nowadays, is almost as safe as Buenos Aires. Homicide rate in Brazilian Capitals (2019) 1. Fortaleza (CE) – 87,9.
Despite all the tourist attractions, Florianopolis is considered not the safest city in Brazil. The crime rate is medium to high. Most crimes involve hacking and stealing things from a car, vandalism, armed robberies, and drug problems. The city is safe enough during the off-season.
Rio De Janeiro, Brazil Fiera de Santa is the most violent and dangerous city in Brazil. It has an average murder rate of 61 per 100,000 individuals.
But unlike Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, also cultural and economic centers, gang-related killings in Fortaleza make it the country’s second most dangerous city. In 2016, the city ranked 35th
